2022 Annual Gala

Giving Families Hope

The primary mission of Lifting Families Together (LFT) is: “To improve the quality of life for children with health care issues.” We invite you to partner with us in meeting the needs of families in crisis by becoming a sponsor or underwriter for our Annual Gala fundraiser, which will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Junior League of Houston (located at 1811 Briar Oaks Lane, Houston, Texas 77027).

Our theme this year is Giving Families Hope, and since 2015, that is exactly what LFT has done! For example, Esther was referred to LFT by her hospital social worker at the age of 12. She was diagnosed with a very rare form of sickle cell and endured many hospitalizations. The family consisted of a single mother and one sibling. During Esther’s hospitalizations (which would sometimes last for weeks), the entire family stayed in her room. LFT provided financial support for housing utilities, car insurance, and groceries while working with this family. During Esther’s hospital stays, LFT volunteers sat with her for hours. This support gave the mother some much-needed time for herself and allowed her to take care of other family matters. Although Esther is still a very sick young lady, we were excited that she recently graduated from high school and plans to attend college. In her thank you to LFT, she wrote: ” … all of LFT, I appreciate everything you guys have done for me.”

Esther’s family is just one of many that LFT has assisted over the past seven years. We desperately need your help so we can continue to support families who may be weary from a long and difficult journey and give them hope for a brighter future. The Gala is LFT’s main fundraiser for the year. Funds from this event are used to provide financial support, along with counseling, educational, and life skills services to families who have children with medical challenges.
